I am all about work hard, play hard. But I also support the concept of rest hard.

I believe it’s vital that your mind and body recover and recuperate from the stresses and strains of the day and/or week. Recharge your batteries. Read a good book. Veg out on an engaging movie or television show. Get lost in a passionate hobby. Play with the kids. But do it as I do and dress to rest. That’s right! I’m not talking about dress to impress. It’s just the opposite – it’s chillin’ time. You can shed that red power tie or those fancy high heels, or you can keep them on…whatever works for you. Lounge clothing can run the gamut as far as I’m concerned. There are no rules…under the condition you really dress to rest and switch off the left side of your brain.

Perhaps your favorite outfit is a satin robe and slippers. Or flannel pajamas with puppet socks might be more to your liking. Maybe, you’re like me, and like to change into baggy sweats, two times too large and shredded at the ends, as soon as you get home.

The style isn’t what’s important. No, what’s important is how the clothes make you feel following a day at work or during that special day off from work or school. We all have our favorite duds fitted perfectly for our down time. They’re the clothes that, well, just the thought of putting them on is enough to make you feel relaxed and contented.

So treat yourself to an article or two of clothing that when you slide on, whispers suggestively: “We’ve got nothing to do and we’re going to do it really well.” -- PC
