Ahoy matey! Ye be invited aboard the debut o’ a great, grand new theater show!
Pat Croce and his team at the Pirate Soul Museum in Key West, FL are proud to announce Eat Like a Pirate being held at the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia from October 11th November 25, 2007.
Eat Like a Pirate will be highly interactive and geared for the museum’s young audience. This show is designed to make the kids laugh while they’re learning about the things that lead to a healthy lifestyle: good nutrition, healthy choices and exercise. This show will also have corresponding educational programming conducted on the Gallery floor that will expand on the ideas introduced in the theatre presentation.

Aboard their trusty ship, The Flying Lunch Bucket, with the flag of the Bowl-N-Cross-Scones waving over their heads, brave Pirate Captain Good-Munch and his crew, the Low-Sodium Dogs, sail past the Sandwich Islands, round the Horn o’ Plenty and up to the Great Food Pyramids searching for good nutrition, the proverbial free lunch and the ever elusive Berry Treasure!!
Along the way they gits to larn ‘bout eating in mod-arr-ation, the importance o’ exercise and moving their bodies, how to choose the good stuff to snack on (food identification) and discover why y’ should steer clear o’ the dreaded Sugar Shack on Processed Food Island; Arrrrgh!!!

Eat Like a Pirate will be staged weekdays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and weekends at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Visitors can build on the show’s themes by participating in the museum’s new Creative Dramatics program, “Pirate Picnic.” These gallery floor activities engage children by encouraging imagination and physical expression. Kids can participate in movement and dramatic play activities by sailing the imaginary seas on a search for healthy snacks and pirate lore. This fun-filled adventure incorporates costumes, books, healthy snack toys, pirate props, and puppet pals.
