in Philadelphia. The inspirational script, developed
by Tim Chambers and Anthony Gargano, is based
on the true Cinderella story of the Immaculata
University’s women’s college basketball
team and their amazing journey to capture the
1972 national championship. Chambers wrote the
screenplay and directs the film; and Pat Croce
serves as the executive producer.
The movie, which filmed in Philadelphia during
May and June of ’07 and scheduled for release
in spring ‘08, features an all-star cast.
Carla Gugino (Entourage, Night at the Museum,
American Gangster), Marley Sheldon (Grindhouse,
Sugar and Spice), David Boreanaz (Bones
and Angel), and Academy Award Winner
Ellen Byrnstyn
The movie follows the struggles of Immaculata
University’s women’s college basketball
team and how head Coach Cathy Rush, while overcoming
numerous obstacles, led the team to victory. The
heroic story highlights the accomplishments of
a young woman who took a group of girls and taught
them to believe in their dreams.
