The
mission of the Project H.O.M.E. community is to
empower adults, children, and families to break
the cycle of homelessness and poverty, to alleviate
the underlying causes of poverty, and to enable
all of us to attain our fullest potential as individuals
and as members of the broader society. To
date, Project H.O.M.E. has leveraged over $40,000,000
in equity towards housing and economic development.
Project H.O.M.E was founded my Sister Mary Scullion
and Joan Dawson McConnon in 1989. As a direct
disciple of Sister Mary, Pat Croce has been involved
with Project H.O.M.E for over a decade and a half.
With Sister Mary being such a role model to society
Pat wrote about her in his best selling book Lead
or Get Off the Pot…
“She had a vision of educating and employing
and empowering those whom society had given up
on. She has far succeeded that goal.
The grand result is that more than five thousand
men and women have been helped by Project H.O.M.E.
and the rate of homelessness on the street of
Philadelphia has been cut in half in the years
since the project began.”
